So I don't think the Obama administration is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ or anything, but I have to say the tension that has existed for the last eight years somewhere down near my uterus un-knotted a just wee small bit when I saw the juxtaposition of these two pictures.Also: to the undergraduate standing in front of me in the coffee line who turned around after paying to say to me, "I saw you reading Feministe just now and I was so encouraged!" -- it's so nice to know there are other people out there in the real world who feel encouraged by the same things I do! You totally made my day.
