I agree that to be able to have the conversation on stage, with no one completely losing it -- and no one picketing outside! -- is definitely an improvement.

I think I'm just sad that so many of our tools for critique, compromise, and creative re-imagining seem to get shut down when it comes to sexually-explicit materials.annajcookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17573723390785613915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8743841912028246535.post-25924945555120483892012-02-11T15:07:34.880-04:002012-02-11T15:07:34.880-04:00There is yet hope in feminism's dialectic abou...There is yet hope in feminism's dialectic about porn. Dine's shrill reflective Marxism is based in Dworkin and MacKinnon's work and is being supported by Polaris Foundation and other NGO's. That any institute of advanced learning was able to arrange to have a Dworkinite to have a conversation with someone like Dr. Queen is a major step in communication. In almost every case over the last 30 years the sex-negative academics will not allow any other female voice to be heard. They even stoop to making the date to debate then cancelling at the last minute. That you and other queer women are stepping up and representing is hopeful. It shows to me that we can not be kept quiet. Thank you for your honesty.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
